The Innotech Expo at Hong Kong's Exhibition and Convention Center is expected to draw 100,000 visitors before it closes next Monday. CGTNs Li Jiejun shows us how the nine-day expo is about more than just modern day innovations.

This is a replica of an observatory that made ingenius use of water in the days of old to study the heavens. And the small wooden men at the windows can tell the correct time. The design embodies the wisdom and creativity of the ancient Chinese. And it is the first time for it to be showed to the public.

LUO BAOQI ANCIENT ASTRONOMICAL INSTRUMENTS REPAIR EXPERT "This observatory showcases the advanced techniques of China's Song Dynasty. It is a perfect combination of engineering, art, construction and fluid mechanics. It's the first one of its kind in China, and also in the world."

These silkworms are especially welcomed by Hong Kong residents. They are the second generation of the six silkworms, that were taken into space by Chinese astronauts for an experiment designed by Hong Kong students. The expo is a good platform to widen the young students' horizons. They can see the inventions of ancient times, and the latest innovations from nowadays. They can learn about new things in space, and also in the sea and on land.

LI JIEJUN HONG KONG This is an internet car. The term internet car refers to the Internet of Things where everything is connected: your phone with your car, your car with your home, and your home with your phone. Now I can use my mobile phone or my voice to control the car.

Virtual reality is also a hot topic. VR technology is becoming more widely used in entertainment, engineering, health care and education. The VR interactive area draws lots of Hong Kong residents. (wearing the VR glasses, UPSOUND) "Now I can see the assembly work of China's first homegrown narrow body jet, C919." Another concept similar to visual reality is augmented reality, or AR. The technique may sound complicated, but this production system is tailor-made for non-professionals. In just 5 minutes and 3 steps, users can produce a 360-degree AR product or even 3D modeling.

This can make your camera link with the tent table. We got two ways to get source image. We can take video, or we can take frame by frame. In this case, every time I take a picture, it make one frame. After one full rotation, we can just take the source image out, and put into software for 2 or 3 minutes. Then we can generate 360 image.
