Philippine military jets have fired rockets at rebel militant positions in the southern city of Marawi. With about 200,000 people living in the city, local government officials and residents are concerned about their safety.
The battle between Philippine government forces and ISIL-linked militants is now entering a fifth day, and it looks like it could still drag on for days, with parts of Marawi still under the control of the militants. The Philippine military has also confirmed the presence of foreign jihadists among the rebels.
