[]
Let take a look at the Chinese yuan. China's central bank has lifted its official yuan midpoint to 6.2885 per dollar. That's the strongest level since August 2015, breaching the key 6.3 level. Friday's midpoint is 160 pips or 0.25 percent firmer than Thursday's fix of 6.3045. It's also the strongest since August 11, 2015, when China shocked global markets with a sharp 2 percent one-off currency devaluation. Both the onshore and offshore yuan have breached the 6.28 level against dollar today, a record high since August 11, 2015. Those almost 200 pips stronger than Thursday's closing.
