To Abu Dhabi now where one young golfer thought he would try his luck in out-doing a couple of professionals at the European tour. 13-year-old Oscar Murphy teed up for the "Beat the Pro" challenge on the opening day and was able to upstage world number one Dustin Johnson.
Here is Oscar who, after seeing attempts from Johnson and race to Dubai winner Tommy Fleetwood, thinks he can do better. The young gentleman hits the ball just 25 yards away from the pin on the par three 15th hole. Five-time major winner Rory McIlroy does fare better but take nothing away from this up and coming linksman who will remember this day for the rest of his life.
As for the tournament, Tommy Fleetwood and Hideto Tanihara share the lead at 6-under. Rory is at 3-under, China's Wu Ashun is minus-1, and world number one Dustin Johnson is at even par after 18 holes.
Over on the PGA tour, Jon Rahm fired a blistering 10-under 62 to take the lead at the CareerBuilder Challenge. He is a stroke ahead of a trio of golfers. And China's Dou Zecheng, the first player from the Mainland to earn a PGA Tour card had a solid round after a 5-under 67.
