Over in the NBA, Blake Griffin is speaking for the first time since being dealt by the Clippers to the Detroit Pistons. The former slam dunk champ spent his entire nine-year career with the L-A franchise, but found himself involved in a multi-player deal earlier this week. The five-time All-Star helped the Clips make the playoffs six times, and will try and steer his new team into the post-season. Griffin says that the trade was surprising.
BLAKE GRIFFIN DETROIT PISTONS FORWARD "Yeah, shocked is a good way to put it. I didn't know anything. I pretty much found out when everybody else found out so, yeah, it just kind of took a second to realize, okay, like, everything's changing, you know? But, immediately, once you get over that and I got a chance to talk to (head coach) Stan (Van Gundy), what was it? Monday night? Was that the day? I don't know what day it is. I got a chance to talk to him, and once you start talking basketball, then your mind kind of switches into that mode." "And so now it's just I want to hit the ground running and be a part of this team and be a part of this franchise."
