Tianmen Mountain in China’s central Hunan Province is home to one of the most dangerous roads in the world, featuring 99 bends, many of them hairpin turns, over a scenic 10.77 kilometers.
But this did not stop Chinese stunt driver and drift racer Liang Huijun from conquering the scary route on March 8 - International Women’s Day – finishing the hair-raising dash in 15 minutes and becoming the first female racer to complete the Tianmen 99 bends.
The six-meter wide road leads down from the highest peak at 1,100 meters, snaking between picturesque mountains.
Last year, Italian racer Fabio Barone completed the perilous course in a record 10 minutes and 31 seconds.
