Story of universal love pulls on the heartstrings of Chinese audiences
Today is Valentine's Day, and there is no better way to celebrate the day of love than to revisit one of modern day's most iconic love stories. The 1990 movie "Ghost" starring Patrick Swayze, Demi Moore and Whoopi Goldberg is one of the highest grossing films of all time, winning two Academy Awards. It also became a huge sensation in China, at a time when Western movies were just being introduced to the country during the nineties. Well, two decades after the movie was made, the timeless love story was adapted for the stage. "Ghost The Musical" is now back in Beijing for its second run.
It's a story about the universal power of love.

Sam Wheat and Molly Jensen are about to start a new life together. But it's cut short when Sam is killed in a mugging one night - leaving him trapped as a ghost between this world and the next. He finds out that Molly is in serious danger - and enlists the help of a psychic medium so that he can protect her.
Directed by Tony Award-winning director Mathew Warchus, the production first opened in Manchester and London in 2011. A year later, it hit Broadway and soon started touring internationally.
Whether you prefer the screen or the stage, there's no denying that "Ghost The Musical" has added another dimension to the same old love story that will continue to transcend for a very "long, but hopefully not - too lonely time..."
