Britain's International Trade Secretary Liam Fox is on a three-day visit to China. Fox will visit Beijing and Shenzhen to meet with Chinese Minister of Commerce Zhong Shan and business representatives.
The secretary's visit follows the British government's announcement to support the Belt and Road Initiative on Tuesday, with 34 billion US dollars in funding in areas covered by the China-proposed initiative. China and the UK are now at a period of strong bilateral trade relations, know as the "golden era". So far, China has invested a cumulative total of more than 17 billion US dollars in the UK, the second highest in all European countries.
