HK Chief Executive-elect Carrie Lam to accept appointment in Beijing

Hong Kong’s Chief Executive-elect Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor will arrive in Beijing on Sun‍day to be formally appointed by China's central government as the special administrative region’s fourth leader.‍
Lam is expected to meet with Premier Li Keqiang during her four-day trip to confirm the appointment.
Lam won the HKSAR chief executive election on March 26 with the support of 777 of the 1,194 members of the Hong Kong Election Committee.‍
China's State Council appointed Lam as the new chief executive of the HKSAR on March 31. She will take office on July 1.
She is set to arrive in Beijing on Sunday and will return to the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) on Wednesday.
