In a speech at the China Development Forum on Monday, the president of the AIIB Jin Liqun said that the bank is not a clone of existing financial institutions but has special features.
He noted that the bank is not only the first of its kind to have developing countries as majority shareholders, but also accepts developed countries as members. The AIIB's  Articles of Agreement ensure that voting powers are distributed evenly to avoid any one party dominating the bank.
