Professional Football: Bolt dreams of playing for Manchester United
[]
The fastest man in the world got to show his prowess on the pitch when Usain Bolt participated in training with Borussia Dortmund. The eight-time Olympic champion has often said he hopes to play football since retiring from sprinting after last year's World Championships, and his dream is to one day suit up for his favourite team, Manchester United while he will be cheering for Argentina at this summer's World Cup.
But for now Bolt will have to be content with the yellow and black of BVB rather than the red of United. After warming up and doing a few drills, Bolt would get to take part in a half-pitch srimmage involving several first-team players, not on international duty, such as Mario Gotze. At 6 foot 5, Bolt's height and speed are obviously attractive physical gifts, but those don't always translate into skills on the pitch. The 31 year old would look pretty good in training, and even manages to nutmeg Italy under-19 player Dario Scuderi. Bolt would later admit that he is out of shape, but was still happy with how he played and said Dortmund's coach Peter Stoeger also liked what he saw which could lead to more time with the German Bundesliga side.
