Japan is said to be considering the possibility of a summit between Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and DPRK leader Kim Jong Un. Reuters quotes an anonymous government source as saying that Abe would want to discuss the abduction of Japanese citizens by DPRK agents several decades ago. Shinzo Abe has previously said he would not rest until all 13 of the people the DPRK admitted to kidnapping have returned. Earlier today, he met with South Korean National Intelligence Service chief Suh Hoon. Abe said Japan wants denuclearization talks with the DPRK but Pyongyang must show it is willing to disarm.
