Egypt Election: President Sisi garners overwhelming win in presidential election

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi won a landslide victory against his competitor, Mousa Mustafa Mousa in last week's elections. The results were announced at a press conference in Cairo on Monday. Yasser Hakim was there and filed this report.
LASHIN IBRAHIM CHAIRMAN, NATIONAL ELECTION AUTHORITY "The total votes received by Abdel Fattah Husein Khalil el Sisi, known as Abdel Fattah El Sisi, is 21,835,387 votes, garnering 97.8% of total votes. The total votes for Mousa Mustafa Mousa Mohamed, known as Mousa Mustafa Mousa, is 656,534 votes, 2.92% of total votes."
It's been expected. The Egyptian president has far more popularity than his adversary who entered the race on deadline day. The turnout was a respectable 41% of the total registered voters. As Abdel Fattah El Sisi assumes his role as president, what are voters hoping he would achieve in his second term.
YAHIA ABDEL HAMID "Hopefully the upcoming four years he will be accomplishing the country on solid and firm foundations, as well as, activating further anti-corruption laws to make it better an environment for living and investments."
NABIL MOHAMED "I want from the president to carry out the projects he started because we've seen that he has established considerable projects like road networks and to improve on all sectors of the society and economy."
Meanwhile most analysts believe the president will continue what he started in 2014. A priority is the war on terror, Sinai 2018, launched to eradicate terrorism from the country. The economic reform plans are top of his agenda as well.
MOHAMED EL SHAMAA EDITOR-IN-CHIEF, AKHER SAEA "There will be more economic reforms in the second term but the tough part is done. The worn out infrastructure has been developed, roads, transportation, ports, investment laws, all this and more have been established. The next period we should benefit from these reforms through job creation and exports. The infrastructure will also allow different sectors to flourish such as tourism, heavy industries, electronics chemicals, etc."
Monday marks the end of the election process for this year but the beginning of another major challenge in plans to rebuild the country.
