One of China's largest floating solar power plants, covering an area of 28 hectares on a lake, has been put into operation in the city of Hangzhou in eastern China's Zhejiang Province.
The power station can produce 20 million kilowatt-hours per year, which is enough to supply power to 17,000 households for a year. It can also reduce carbon dioxide emission by 20,000 tons.
Construction work on the power plant began in January. Made with eco-friendly materials, the plant is China's first self-designed and self-manufactured floating solar power plant.
