Trade Tensions: China says wants win-win solution with US to settle trade issues
[]
Within the next couple of hours, the White House is set to announce steep tariffs on Chinese imports -- that aim to target China's high-technology sector and could also include restrictions on Chinese investments. Beijing says it hopes to hold constructive talks with Washington to settle these trade issues.
HUA CHUNYING SPOKESPERSON, CHINESE FOREIGN MINISTRY "We hope both sides can achieve a win-win solution on trade issues through constructive dialogue and negotiation, in the spirit of equality and mutual respect. Being the world's two largest economies, these talks will play a positive role on maintaining stability of the world economy. This is also in line with the mutual benefits of the people in the two countries. China completely disagrees with, and also cannot accept, this so-called economic invasion. The word invasion cannot be used to label China in any way."
