To Spain where it's El Clasico time in La Liga as newly crowned champions Barcelona welcomed Real Madrid to the Nou Camp. Los Blancos came in 15 points behind Barca in the table, but their domestic disappointment is tempered by their success in the Champions League where they will face Liverpool for a third straight title. Barca have plenty to play for as they were four matches away from becoming the first to finish a 38-game Spanish top flight season, and Lionel Messi would add to his tally in the giants' rivalry.
Barcelona go ahead within 10 minutes, as Sergi Roberto crosses to Luis Suarez, who finishes into the bottom corner.
Cristiano Ronaldo levels the score in the 15th minute after being set up by Karim Benzema.
Roberto gets a red card in first-half injury time for swiping his hand at Marcelo's face, and Barca are down to ten men.
Ronaldo is replaced by Marco Asensio at halftime, having hurt his right ankle while scoring.
Messi comes Barcelona's rescue by beating Keylor Navas in the 52nd minute.
Gareth Bale pulls Real Madrid level in the 72nd, after curling in a pass by Asensio.
Messi's record 26th goal in EL Clasico helps Barca salvage a 2-2 draw, in Andres Iniesta's last appearance in the rivalry.
ERNESTO VALVERDE BARCELONA COACH "The match had different stages. We started well and created chances to get to the last third well, but there were moments when we lost the ball and they counter attacked. We were too tired to play our proper game. Real Madrid is a team that when they have space to run in front of them, it's hard to face them which is how we conceded.
ZINEDINE ZIDANE REAL MADRID COACH "We created a lot of chances to score, but couldn't make use of them in the first half, but this is what it is. In the end it is a draw, nothing will change. As for Barcelona, they will finish undefeated."
