China has slammed India as hypocritical after it cited security concerns to oppose Chinese road construction on the China side of the Sino-Indian border despite planning its own new standalone road on the other side of the division. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying said during a regular press conference on Thursday that Indian media reports acknowledging the plans prove that Indian officials have contradicted themselves in comments on the ongoing border standoff between the two sides’ militaries.
