China would provide 150 million yuan (22.7 million US dollars) to help with the reconstruction in Marawi, Chinese Premier Li Keqiang announced on Wednesday during his official visit to the Philippines.
Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte lauded China for what he said was its "critical" role in expediting the end of a five-month war with Islamist insurgents in a Philippine town.
The conflict was the biggest and longest battle in the Philippines since World War II. More than 1,000 people, most of them rebel gunmen, were killed and 353,000 were displaced.
China and the Philippines on Wednesday signed 14 deals on bilateral cooperation in infrastructure building and financing, drug rehabilitation, climate change and other areas.
Chinese Premier Li and Duterte, who witnessed the signing of the documents, pledged to further strengthen the "positive momentum" in the development of bilateral relations.
