Rock singers from regions along the ancient Silk Road gathered in the city of Jiayuguan, China's northwestern Gansu Province for an international music festival on Tuesday.
The artists performing at the festival used different traditional music elements to express their own culture to the audience in the region.

Chinese singer Zhao Muyang and his band kicked off the two-day outdoor music festival.
The fifty-year-old musician has always promoted the culture of the region with his music. He has attempted mixing folk instruments and the region's folk song style into modern rock music.
And this time, performing in front of an audience from his home region, the rocker was quite thoughtful about choosing the songs. "We picked several songs that are relevant to the region. The music elements originated from or were inspired by the local culture," said Zhao.

Russian band Argymak stunned the audience with their unique folk style rock performance. Their music tries to reflect the love of God for every individual.
The music feast lasted for six hours until late in the evening. It provided the audience a rare chance to see many elements of ancient cultures along the Silk Road, expressed in a modern way.
