BRICS to act as important formation for Belt and Road Initiative

The coastal city of Xiamen in east China's Fujian Province is preparing for the 9th BRICS summit, which will take place in early September.
China intends to review, through the meeting, the successes in BRICS cooperation, plan a vision for future development, specify the direction of the BRICS mechanism, and expand cooperation.
Malcolm Damon, executive director of Economic Justice Network of South Africa, expects more discussions related to Africa. He said that BRICS helps carry forward the spirit of openness, tolerance with each other, to cooperate so as to create a win-win situation.
Experts believe the Belt and Road Initiative put forward by Chinese President Xi Jinping will feature prominently once again in the upcoming BRICS Summit.
