At a routine press conference in Beijing on Tuesday, China called for dialogue to handle the political fallout over the alleged nerve agent attack.

HUA CHUNYING FOREIGN MINISTRY SPOKESPERSON "China is firmly oppose to the use of chemical weapons. The Skripal incident should be dealt with on the basis of facts and through dialogue between the UK and Russia. The relevant countries should abide by the basic rules of international law and international relations and they should avoid taking any action that escalates the dispute."
