In South Korea, more than half a million people marked New Year's Eve with a massive protest, calling for immediate arrest and ousting of the country’s impeached President Park Geun-hye. Protesters marched toward key buildings in Seoul for the rally on Saturday. In his New Year speech, South Korea's acting President Hwang Kyo-ahn called for national unity against the political turmoil.
