Developing Responsible AI: Governance Principles for New Generation AI issued

Artificial Intelligence affects many aspects of our lives. On Monday, the National Governance Committee for the New Generation Artificial Intelligence issued principles and guidelines for the new era ahead of us. Experts say it's an action guide for future AI development in China. CGTN's Liu Yang reports.

AI has been in development for more than 60 years. Today it is seen in smartphones, cars, video gaming and more. On Monday, the "Governance Principles for the New Generation Artificial Intelligence - Developing Responsible Artificial Intelligence" were released.

The governance principles highlight the themes of developing responsible AI and emphasizing eight fundamentals including fairness and justice, respect for privacy, security and control, and others. The governance principles are the basis for future legislation. Experts say China's fast-growing AI development is partly because of the government's support.
