A video has emerged from China of a teacher smashing confiscated mobile phones belonging to students at a middle school. In the video, filmed in Nanyang in central China's Henan Province on October 8, a teacher smashes the phones with a hammer and then puts them into a bucket of water as one-by-one the owners' names are announced over a loud speaker. Teachers at the school do not allow students to use mobile phones on campus and had warned students that they would be destroyed. The local education bureau has asked the school for clarification over the incident.
