U.S. President Donald Trump, firing up his domestic base over the weekend. And things may be about to get a lot hotter on the international front. U.S. sanctions against Iran are back, with bans on buying everything from carpets to cash. Without dollars, Iran's economy is in trouble and street protests mounting. Sanctions are back because Trump abandoned an international agreement to reduce them in exchange for Tehran giving up nuclear weapons development. But as he applies pressure on Iran, Trump suggested he's also open to talks, tweeting "I will meet, or not meet, it doesn't matter - it is up to them!" Even so, Trump is politically isolated on the issue. Europe wants to stick with the deal, and the EU is pushing legislation to protect its companies' continued trade with Iran. And China, another signatory to the deal, is pivotal to it the message from Iran's foreign minister to his Chinese counterpart when they met on Friday. OFA, CGTN.
