In Afghanistan, at least 23 people are dead and more than a dozen wounded in a series of attacks and suicide bombings. Saturday's biggest attack, claimed by the Taliban, was on an army base in the western province of Farah that killed at least 18 soldiers. In a separate attack claimed by ISIL, a suicide bomber detonated explosives near the diplomatic area in the capital of Kabul during the morning rush hour, killing at least 3 people. The explosion happened near a compound for the Afghan intelligence agency. The NATO headquarters and the US embassy are also in that area. AND in the southern Helmand province, the Taliban carried out several suicide car bomb attacks, killing two soldiers and wounding dozens more.
