On basic education, he said the ministry will continue to push reforms to ease academic pressure on schoolchildren, to guarantee equal distribution of resources, and reduce the disparity between urban and rural schools. Chen also talked about the importance of building an advanced higher education system. He said future work will be in line with the target raised in Premier Li Keqiang's government work report, which is getting more Chinese universities and institutions to top world rankings.
