Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro on Saturday delivered a speech at a campaign rally, criticizing the US government for launching the strikes on Syria.
NICOLAS MADURO VENEZUELAN PRESIDENT "We energetically condemn the attack on Syria. The attacks were a criminal act by US imperialism against the people of Syria. Syria wants peace and respect."
Meanwhile, Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz has called for a resumption of Syria peace talks, saying Austria is ready to host such talks at any time. In 2015, peace talks were held in Vienna aiming to halt the bloodshed in Syria. Kurz also said no military solution appeared possible in the conflict. And people all over the globe have expressed their anger toward the US-led strikes. More than 300 protesters gathered at the UK's Royal Air Force Base in southern Cyprus, demanding the closure of the base. And in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Iraq, Gaza and India, people took to streets to protest the strikes and show support for the Syrian people.
