Iranian police forces fatally shot a suspect who attacked a cleric at a Tehran subway station on Saturday
morning, according to Xinhua who quoted Hadi Tamhidi, the governor of Shahr-e-Ray district in the south of the country's capital Tehran.
The attacker came at a cleric with a knife in the Shahr-e-Ray subway station. The wounded cleric was sent to the hospital, Tamhidi told state IRIB
TV.
Another person who helped the cleric, was also injured by the attacker.
The identity of the assailant has not been revealed, and there has been no
report about the intentions in the attack so far.
