Panama appoints new ambassador to China

Francisco Escobar Pedreschi has been appointed as Panama's first Ambassador to China since the two countries established diplomatic relations in June, according to a statement by Panama's Foreign Ministry on Tuesday.
Pedreschi was appointed by President Juan Carlos Varela for his extensive experience in the public and private sector, as well as his experience in the Panamanian foreign affairs, the statement said.
