Paris police arrested 41 people on Thursday as violence erupted in protests against the country’s new labor laws.
Police said a group of 80 people, 30 of them hooded, set three cars on fire and destroyed four others, near a human resources managers’ congress in the Bois de Boulogne, western Paris.
The sabotage triggered a standoff between riot police and the demonstrators.
Police accused the demonstrators of "throwing projectiles on law enforcement officers, carrying a prohibited weapon, and participating in a mob when carrying arms."
No casualties have been reported so far from the incident.
