A new high point in China-Japan relations. From attending a ceremony, meeting at the Imperial Palace, to giving a warm toast of good will, Chinese Premier Li Keqiang has put in great efforts to make the most out of his packed four-day-visit to Japan. And it has indeed yielded fruitful results.
SHINZO ABE JAPANESE PRIME MINISTER "There is nearly nothing left that is impossible if Japan and China can hold hands together. I'm confident that we can make greater contributions to resolving various regional and global issues."
This year marks the 40th anniversary of the China-Japan Treaty of Peace and Friendship. And the best way to commemorate it? Premier Li said it's the new progress and lasting stable development that should be made in the two countries' relationship. And another friendly move will be China's donation of a pair of endangered crested ibises to Japan, the first in 11 years. As the world's second and third largest film markets, China and Japan have also signed agreements to cooperate in film production. In a speech on Thursday, Premier Li said the two countries should make efforts to protect the global economy, despite prevailing challenges.
LI KEQIANG CHINESE PREMIER "Under the current circumstances of a long-awaited recovery in the global economy, growing protectionism is rearing its head again. I believe Japan and China should further maintain multilateral trade, protect free trade, and fight protectionism to maintain the recovery momentum of the global economy."
During his visit to Japan, Premier Li also proposed a new cooperation mode of "China-Japan-South Korea+X". He said the three nations should give full play to their respective advantages to promote the development of Asian countries. And the mechanism is expected to open a new era of cooperation between the nations. WQW. CGTN.
