‍Dramatic rescue scenes are seen across the Mexican capital, as rescue workers labor around the clock to find any survivors trapped under collapsed buildings.
One of the most major disasters that took place in this earthquake was the collapse of a private elementary and secondary school, the Rebsamen School, on the southern side of Mexico City. The school buckled with hundreds of children inside.
Authorities believe children are still trapped underneath the rubble.
Volunteer rescue workers have been working around the clock. They've brought lumber to shore-up parts of the fallen building and shovels to dig out the victims.
They've also created a human chain, to quickly move food and medical supplies into this area. The supplies are for families affected by the earthquake.
Mexican federal police agents are coordinating security and helping dig for survivors.
Rescue officials said they believe a little girl is trapped under the rubble at the school. They believe she’s still alive.
Amid the hope, there is also despair. Authorities have already confirmed 25 dead — 19 children and six adults — at the school.
