'Meet in Beijing': Asian culture highlighted in arts festival

Every year, the spring ushers in the "Meet In Beijing" Arts Festival. The 19th edition of the event will start on April 25th, and last for a month. Here's a sneak peek.  
As announced at Tuesday's press conference, up to 600 artists from 35 art groups in 25 countries and regions are going to meet on the stage this year, delivering 50 performances.
The concert of "Asia in Harmony", jointly presented by China National Traditional Orchestra and artists from five other Asian countries, will make a stage pose at the NCPA as the opening ceremony.
Organizers say showing the integrated development and communication of Asian civilization is an emphasis of this year's festival.
The Meet in Beijing Arts Festival has been striving to play a role in promoting international cultural and tourism exchanges. It always offers a platform for showcasing first-class art from around the world.
This year, French ensemble of Les Bons Becs's "Big Bang" and modern dance "Plan B", Spain's sand painting show "Dreams of Sand", the ballet production "Spartacus" by National Academic Bolshoi Opera and Ballet Theatre of the Republic of Belarus and the like will bring art lovers in Beijing a feast of foreign flavor.
As a most well-known song and dance troupes of foreign universities in China, the American Brigham Young University art troupes will visit China again on the occasion of its 40th anniversary.
What could we expect from them this year?
Meet in Beijing is an annual arts festival sponsored by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, State Administration of Radio and Television and the Beijing municipal government, and organized by China Arts and Entertainment Group and Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture.
Since its start in 2000, the event has invited more than 30, 000 artists from across the world, attracting over 4 million audience members to the capital. SW, CGTN.
