The 2nd World Intelligence Congress (WIC 2018) will kick off in one month’s time in Tianjin. That was the word from the Tianjin municipality on Wednesday (April 18).
The WIC2018 is hereby established as a cooperation and exchange platform for global experts and officials, industry giants and entrepreneurs. The three-day event aims to put the impact of technology into industrial competitiveness.
Meanwhile, authorities said that a 30 billion yuan (about 4.7 billion US dollar) special fund has been provided to finance the development of artificial intelligence (AI) and boost the use of technology in manufacturing since last year's Congress.
Beside this, the government will announce various projects in information technology, smart healthcare, and new energy vehicles, according to Zhao Haishan, Vice Mayor of Tianjin.

“We aim to set up a platform for all walks of society to debate the recent development of artificial intelligence, hosting leaders from academies, industry and the social sciences. We will debate trends and progress, and we will also announce fresh policy incentives in talent recruitment, financing, and research to further boost the development of artificial intelligence,” Zhao said.
Last year, the 1st World Intelligence Congress (WIC 2017) brought together 3,500 participants from academic, business and industrial communities as well as government officials from across the world. Due to this, officials are optimistic that a number of agreements will be reached this year that will enhance cooperation between public and private sectors.
