At least four people have been killed and five others injured in an explosion and fire in the southern Israeli city of Jaffa on Monday night, the Times of Israel has reported citing police.
Police said four bodies had been recovered from rubble and that one of the injured was in a critical condition.
Local media report the fire has been brought under control but rescue work is still underway to locate missing people.
The explosion, which happened at a hardware store on Yeffet Street at around 11:10 p.m. Monday night, “completely leveled the one-story building”, the Times of Israel said.
An investigation into the cause of the blast is underway.
