Xi urges unified efforts to intensify military reform

Chinese President Xi Jinping has called for all-out efforts to push military reform with the support of t the entire nation and the Communist Party of China (CPC).
Xi, also general secretary of the CPC Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission (CMC), made the remarks Monday afternoon at a group meeting attended by members of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee.
The group study focused on reforming the military’s structure, size and formation.
Xi said that an optimized joint combat system is taking shape.
In the last five years, significant progress has been made in military reform, he said.
