14 killed in Canada after truck collides with bus carrying ice hockey team

Fourteen people were killed after a bus carrying a junior ice hockey team collided with a truck in Saskatchewan Province, western Canada on Friday evening, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police confirmed in a statement.
According to the police, the bus was carrying 28 passengers, but they didn’t say how many of the victims were players or coaches of the Humboldt Broncos team.
The team comprises 24 players, all from Canada, with the youngest aged 16 and the oldest 21.
The driver was among the dead.
The other 14 people were injured and have been taken to hospital, with three in critical condition.
The accident happened at around 17:00 local time (23:00 GMT), when the bus carrying the Humboldt Broncos ice hockey team was heading to the town of Nipawin for a playoff game. The game has been cancelled.
