Meanwhile Turkey has expressed hope that a planned operation into Syria's Manbij, will not be necessary. Ankara is now seeking to resolve differences over the town through dialogue with the United States.
BEKIR BOZDAG TURKISH DEPUTY PRIME MINISTER "If an outcome won't be achieved by the talks then Turkey will be the one to say the last word. In that case Turkey will cleanse the terrorists there, as it cleansed the terrorists in Afrin. We hope that this issue will be solved by dialogue without a need for such an operation."
Earlier, Turkey had threatened to push some 100 kilomenters east into Manbij, where Syrian Kurdish YPG troops are stationed. The offensive could lead to Turkish forces potentially confronting US troops deployed around the town.
