Syria Conflict: Erdogan: Turkey ready for new targets outside borders
[]
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan says Turkish troops are preparing to move against new targets outside the country. The statement came Monday, one day after Erdogan visited soldiers at an outpost bordering Syria. The president threatened to expand military operations against other Kurdish-held areas in northern Syria after Turkish troops took over Afrin province last month. Turkey launched Operation Olive Branch in Afrin in January. The aim was to clear its border region of Kurdish militia YPG, which is seen by Ankara as a terror group.
