Newly promoted Dalian Yifang went down to its third straight defeat in Chinese Super League (CSL) football on Friday.
Dalian was thrashed 3-0 at home by Beijing Guoan, conceding 13 goals now in its first three games in the top flight.
Jonathan Soriano and the capital club moved their record to two wins and one defeat.
The host, who won China's League One last year, was clearly hoping that the first game at home this season would result in a change of fortunes after a dismal start.
Dalian had the first good chance off a free kick in the 9th minute, but Jose Fonte's header bounced off the bar.

The team from the northeast was then made to pay for that miss a couple of minutes later when Wei Shihao was fouled in the area by goalkeeper Zhang Chong. Jonathan Soriano stepped up to give Guo’an a 1-0 lead.
Wei doubled the advantage a little later by racing on to Renato Augusto's clever pass and curled his shot into the corner.
After the restart, Dalian suffered another blow as Nicolas Gaitan tumbled to the turf after being caught by Li Lei's inadvertent elbow in the 56th minute.

The former Atletico Madrid striker was stretchered off the pitch and taken to hospital as a precaution.
Just after the hour mark, Augusto showed off more creativity to find Soriano, who fired the ball home to claim his second and give Beijing a comfortable cushion.
