Over 200 police officers in the Philippines face termination after being accused of cheating on their entrance exams, the National Police Commission (Napolcom) said on Sunday.
“We’ve discovered more than 200 with what is called statistical improbability as to why they have all the same correct and incorrect answers,” Napolcom Vice Chairman Rogelio Casurao said.
“We have issued notification to cancel all cheaters’ qualification for entering (the) police system.”

Napolcom will also dismiss some policemen from the Philippine National Police (PNP) who allegedly used false documents to enter the force, Casurao said, adding that it was part of their effort to clean up the department.
“We have found that some police officers after serving PNP over 10 years, 15 years offered false papers.”
Casurao said Napolcom is adopting measures including periodic audits, neurological tests and retraining for policemen to ensure they are all good for public service.
The low passing rate of the entrance exam and higher standards of professionalism in the PNP may contribute to the dishonesty.
