Chinese President Xi Jinping has met with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.

Xi Jinping said protecting the authority and stature of the United Nations is fundamental to China's diplomatic policy. During Guterres's stay in China, he will visit the China Peacekeeping Police Training Center and travel to Hainan Province where the Boao Forum for Asia is underway. The UN Chief is scheduled to address the opening session of the forum. President Xi Jinping also welcomed Austrian President Alexander van der Bellen, who is accompanied by a large government and business delegation.
