Beijing housing block fire: 18 arrested, all victims identified

A total of 18 suspects have been arrested in connection with the fire that broke out on Saturday night in a housing block in Daxing District, in the southern outskirts of Beijing, local authorities said during a press conference on Monday.
The blaze killed 19 people and injured eight others.
All the victims have been identified, and seven of the eight wounded are now in stable condition.
The cause of the fire is still unclear.
Officials also said that a 40-day citywide safety check is underway.
