SCO Secretary General Rashid Alimov spoke about the role China plays in the organization.
RASHID ALIMOV SCO SECRETARY GENERAL "China took over the rotating presidency of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization starting June 10th last year. With the support of all parties, China has provided strong impetus for dialogue and the process to develop regional ties within the framework of the SCO. China has also brought multifaceted and substantive changes to the development of the SCO, covering more than 30 areas. This has resulted in the SCO operating conducively, including through some new forms of cooperation and activities. I also think the first Shanghai Cooperation Organization Media Summit, which was proposed by President Xi, is a new way to unite and innovate under the framework of the SCO. It can also attract media to report on the SCO's work and record the development of the SCO in a deeper, more objective and vivid way. Shanghai Cooperation Organization is a young organization with infinite possibilities. It is constantly looking for opportunities, unity and innovation.
