Russia on Tuesday held a military parade on the Red Square, Moscow, to mark the 76th anniversary of the historic parade in 1941 when Soviet soldiers marched through the Red Square towards the front lines during World War II.
More than 5,000 people took part in the parade. They included soldiers in active service and more than 1,800 students from over 62 military schools.
The event was a reproduction of the 1941 parade, when the soldiers went directly to the battlefield to fight German Nazis.
All participants wore 1941 era military uniforms and the weapons displayed were also used in the Great Patriotic War.
Thousands of spectators were on the Red Square, paying tribute to those that fought to protect the nation 76 years ago. Many brought their children to learn about their country's history.
