NATO chief Jens Stoltenberg has called for more defense spending to boost the military alliance. It comes after the United States warned the European Union against using its military cooperation as an excuse to protect Europe's defense industry.
Speaking during a two-day defense meeting in Brussels, Stoltenberg said he expects the alliance to start planning for a NATO training mission in Iraq. Ahead of the meeting, Stoltenberg announced plans to build a new command center in both the US and Germany to upgrade its operational structure.
