Badaling Wildlife Zoo in Beijing drew headlines for a tiger mauling that happened in 2016. Now the zoo is in the news again after a black bear was filmed approaching an open-window vehicle.
The bear stood up on its hind legs and attempted to reach its paws into the vehicle. A few seconds later, the bear left to pick up food that had been thrown out of the vehicle. During the whole incident, no park officers came out to stop the bear.
The park has numerous signs in place warning visitors not to get out of their vehicles, and to keep their windows and doors locked. But clearly not everyone follows the rules. Park officials say they have not received any complaints so far, but that they will investigate this incident as soon as possible.
