Following the BRICS summit, Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto visited the headquarters of Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba on Wednesday in China's eastern city of Hangzhou, in Zhejiang Province.
Peña Nieto and Alibaba founder Jack Ma signed an MOU on e-commerce platform construction and cooperation.
Mexico is China's second largest trade partner in Latin America. Over 99 percent of companies in Mexico are small- and medium-sized enterprises, which contribute to over half of Mexico's national GDP. However, just 6 percent of such companies have direct export businesses.
