Before saying their wedding vows, while looking into each other's eyes, more and more couples in China are saying "SMILE" for the camera. Glamorous pre-wedding PHOTOSHOOTS are now a booming industry there. CGTN's Connie Lee takes a look.
She's one happy bride, with a fancy dress and a shiny crown. It may look like she's walking to the altar but instead, she's headed for this make-believe rainforest.
Today is not her wedding day. But it's PHOTO day with her husband-to-be and many other Chinese couples.
All these couples are part of a booming industry in China--- elaborate pre-wedding photoshoots. This studio in Beijing is cashing in on the trend.
ZHAO RONGCHANG, GENERAL MANAGER BEIJING PHOTO STUDIO "Around 50 couples come to our studio every day. Chinese wedding photography has become more customized. Chinese people used to love to go out or away for their wedding photos, but now they prefer to shoot indoors."
It's a one-stop-shop for all the things you need for a glamorous photoshoot-a closet full of clothes, accessories, and---different sets and backdrops.
How about a romantic shoot under a "starry night"? Or a photo where you're submerged in water?
ZHAO TIANYOU BRIDE-TO-BE IN BEIJING "It's really tiring to shoot outside, moving from one place to another. This wedding photo studio is indoors and it provides everything you want."
Hair and makeup assistants are also provided for that perfect image. Weddings are big business in China-- it's a multi-billion dollar industry.
